P5: EFFECT OF VITAMIN C AND COLD ON GROWTH FACTOR RELEASE FROM PLATELET-RICH PLASMA

چکیده

Abstract Introduction Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has gathered great momentum in surgery. The main outcome of the study was to assess whether there a difference growth factor release from PRP with addition vitamin C, cooling, or both C and cooling. Method Blood samples 10 volunteers were centrifuged produce PRP. Activated autologous thrombin produced platelet-poor (PPP), which added activate it. each participant then divided by activation method into three groups: A) cold pack only; B) C) pack/vitamin C. Growth quantification performed for human VEGF, IGF-1 PDGF-AB using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. Result At 24 hours, VEGF concentration group significantly higher cf. (p=0.02) cold/vit (p<0.01), whereas IGF but not group. 1 hour PDGF (p<0.01) (p=0.02 p<0.0001 respectively). Conclusion Cooling lead increased at indicating that cooling may sustained factors. There trend treated remain gel-like consistency rather than clot. This prove useful clinical practice where currently activated is constrained topical application only due its consistency. Take-home message factors platelet-rich plasma, provide opportunity injectable

Inhibitory activities of platelet-rich and platelet-poor plasma on the growth- of pathogenic bacteria

Background:The utility and efficacy of novel materials in tissue regeneration and antimicrobial therapy are contingent upon the employment of either blood derivatives rich in platelets or platelet-poor-plasma (PPP). This effect is largely mediated by the increased or decreased concentration of platelets in the plasma. The current study aimed t...

Comparison of the Effect of Bovine Platelet Lysate and Platelet Rich Plasma as Growth Promoters on Growth Rate and Viability of Different Cell Lines

Background: Cell therapy and cell culture have received much attention in recent decades. Suitable cell growth requires growth supplements such as fetal bovine serum (FBS). FBS is component rich in nutrients, growth factors and supplementary compounds. However, FBS utilization has some limitations including mass production. Therefore, finding alternatives with the same growth promoting effects ...

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy Increases Growth Factor Release from Equine Platelet-Rich Plasma In Vitro

Introduction Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) are common treatments for soft tissue injuries in horses. Shockwave triggers cell specific responses to promote healing. Growth factors released from PRP also promote healing. It has been hypothesized that greater growth factor release would amplify the healing process. The combination of ESWT and PRP could prom...

Conversion from Platelet-Rich Plasma Platelet Production to Buffy Coat Platelet Component Production: Benefits and Limitations

Blood transfusion centers are under considerable pressure to produce platelet concentrates with high quality and safety due to the short shelf life of 3-5 days as well as possible bacterial and viral contaminations. For a variety of reasons, many Europeans have changed their methods of component production from whole blood using the North American standard platelet-rich plasma method to the buf...
